AUGUST 2010
Phew, what a busy summer - touring to Scottish Festivals which were great fun so long as the weather stayed dry....
We are also in the middle of a 'ART OF THE SILHOUETTE, a project using shadow puppetry techniques with adults with mental health problems. This has been a fascinating time and the groups are responding well. We will all come together to exhibit the work in early October as part of Celebrating Fife Mental Health Awareness week.
May 2010
After a busy tour of Ireland we are now preparing our work for our new project - creating a show based on the sea. The project has 2 strands - creating a professional show for younger children, using ideas drawn from workshops with local schools and each local school involved will also create their own show too! It promises to be a busy time, but very creative and fun. We are very happy to Have Katherine Morley directing as well as the help of Dani Rae as dramaturg, this promises to be an exciting project to work on.
April 2010
What a busy month - 32 performances for Puppet Animation Festival all over Scotland, with the Spark Festival Launch squeezed in between. PAF has been getting fabulous audiences and we are very pleased with the audience reaction. SPARK FESTIVAL Launch was a very interesting event - taking shows into a shopping centre is a new experience but it worked surprisingly well. The hightlight was the presence of the Mayor and Mayoress of Leicester who thought our show "amazing".
March 2010
We have been working hard at various projects and have had two fantastic visits to Larne Museum and Art Gallery in Northern Ireland. First we went with Myths of the Vikings which went down so well we were asked back to do a number of workshops on the story of Finn MacCool. Finn MacCool the Irish Giant featured in a story in our repertoire some years ago and he was absolutely delighted to come out of the puppet store and return to performing and inspiring children to make their own stories.
JANUARY 2010
Well what a year we had in 2009, rushed off our feet going from festival to festival, it was brilliant. We had 29 shows for PAF in Scotland, renewed our contacts in Ireland with Irish Theatres, performed 'ROCK BOTTOM' at 'FESTIVE EAU' in Paris, toured again in China and did 270 performances in all to over 17,000 people throught the UK and beyond. No wonder I never get around to updating the webpage. 2010 is coming along well too.

SKIPTON PUPPET FESTIVAL has been the highlight of our year. Not only was our production of BEOWULF - THE DRAGON SLAYER very well received but we were also able to present our new revised THEATRE 4 ONE piece 'ROCK BOTTOM' at a festival where there were a number of Theatre 4 One shows working together. "Magical" and "Amazing" and "A wonderful quiet 3 minutes in a stressful world" were some of the comments.

ARTS COUNCIL FUNDING FOR ' A CHANCE TO DREAM
NEW SHOW - MARCH 2007
Clydebuilt will be producing a new show for adults in January 2007. We are very pleased to receive funding for this production from the Scottish Arts Council. This funding will help us employ a dramaturg/writer to help create the piece.
NEWS UPDATE: We have also received funding from the 'PUPPET ANIMATION FESTIVAL' through the 'Creative Development Through Rehearsal Fund'. This is a very important help to us as it will give us production time to create the show without having to tour at the same time - thankyou Puppet Animation Festival Scotland.
CLYDEBUILT PUPPET THEATRE VISIT DUBAI
In December 2005 Clydebuilt were invited to the Dubai International Children's Festival with 'FINDERS KEEPERS'. This was a real opportunity to experience a different culture and we really enjoyed the experience. We performed at the 'Madinat Theatre' and also ran puppet making workshops which were much appreciated. For us the best thing was meeting the variety of people who live there (all nationalities) and also having to get our set down to 5 pieces weighing only 65kilos!
It was really brilliant and we would love to go back.
